Susanne Newmark Honored at Friendship Circle Annual Banquet

Susanne Newmark, President of Newmark Associates recognized as one of the top real estate brokerage companies by NJBiz magazine, was honored at the Annual Friendship Circle Banquet for her role in representing LifeTown, Inc. in their acquisition of a 43,100 SF flex building at 8-10 Microlab Road in Livingston.

LifeTown is the Friendship Circle’s new state-of-the-art educational and therapeutic facility designed for children and youth with special needs.  Since the founding of the Friendship Circle in Livingston in October, 2000, over 5000 teen volunteers have donated their time to work with children with special needs.

Mrs. Newmark and her husband, Steve Newmark, were honored during the Friendship Circle’s annual banquet, which took place on March 10.  They are strong supporters of many causes, including the Friendship Circle, whose permanent home will soon reside in the LifeTown complex upon completion.

LifeTown, Inc. is converting the former corporate headquarters on Microlab Road with 26,500 SF of office space and 16,600 SF of manufacturing/warehouse space on over 4 acres of land to a $13 million state-of-the art community center “village” to serve young adults with special needs.  The conversion includes a 12,000 SF replica of a town center, complete with a bank; grocery, food and book stores; pet store; hobby shop; salon; theater and café; office and copy center; medical center; and street crossings.  The facility will also house a library, parent lounge, cooking and art/water/tactile centers; gym and rubberized outdoor fields.

The inclusive setting at LifeTown will host all Friendship Circle programs, redefining the social landscape with its cross-functional training facilities, first of its kind in the region. Such programming helps to bring special needs families out of isolation, integrating them into greater involvement in the community and empowering people to fulfill their greatest potential.

The Friendship Circle’s annual banquet, was co-chaired by Seryl and Charles Kushner, as well as by Elizabeth and Arthur J. Mirante, II.
