M. Therese O’Brian

Mary Therese O’Brian is a licensed Commercial Real Estate Agent with Newmark Associates, the largest and longest-established, women-owned commercial real estate company in New Jersey. From her early years as a Senior Client Development Consultant at Thomson Reuters consistently earning President’s Club Awards, she has developed a 25-year reputation as a client-first, results-driven, innovative leader in every industry she has served from marketing, publishing, travel and education to real estate.

As a  trusted advisor, master negotiator, and strategic partner to her clients, she has a proven track record in managing leases and purchases for medical and mental health physicians in Morris, Essex and Union Counties. Mary Therese assists healthcare professionals seeking to open, expand or sell their real estate and practices with the following services:

  • Evaluation of lease vs. purchase benefits in long-term planning for clients;

Mary Therese studied Marketing at the University of Notre Dame; earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas Edison State College and a mini-MBA in Digital Marketing from Rutgers University Business School.

Her volunteer passion includes supporting several local charities and non-profit organizations.  Drawing upon her familiarity with the economic impact of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and her facilitation of roundtable discussions on thought leadership, she provides marketing strategies for the Social Media and Marketing Committee of the New Jersey Chapter of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women’s Association), where she holds the position of Committee Chair and is a member of their Board of Directors.

She also serves as a New Jersey liaison member for the New York Chapter DEI Committee where she promotes the advancement of professional women in the CRE industry.
